Shapes
Well played! Now try the real one.
Sorting a handful of real dal and rajma by shape and colour is the same looking-closely skill, and your child's fingers do the work too.
Dal Sorting Bowls →Play it together
Sit beside your child and let them drag each shape onto its dark shadow. If dragging is hard, tap the shape, then tap the shadow. Ask what each shape is called, and what at home looks like it.
What it practises
Matching a shape by its outline. That is all we claim for it. The real version,Dal Sorting Bowls, does the same job with things from your kitchen, and does it better.
Five minutes on the screen is plenty. No sign-up, no sound, no ad networks, and nothing your child types leaves this page. More games in the Play corner.
Questions parents ask
Why match shapes to shadows?
A shadow has no colour and no details, only an outline. Matching one makes a child look at the shape itself, which is the same careful looking they need later to tell b from d or 6 from 9.
My toddler cannot drag yet. Can they still play?
Yes. Tap a shape to pick it up, then tap its shadow to drop it there. Many two-year-olds find tapping much easier than dragging.
