Mix the colours
Tap two paint pots
New colours found
- Orange
- Green
- Purple
You found all three new colours!
For grown-ups: this is how paint mixes. A screen makes colour from light, which mixes differently, so here we are showing what paint does.
Well played! Now try the real one.
Go hunting for these colours around the house: a green chilli, an orange, a purple brinjal. If you have paint, or haldi and water, mix two real colours on paper and see if the game was right.
ઘરમાં રંગ શોધો (Colour hunt at home) →Play it together
Before each tap, ask your child to guess: what will red and yellow make? Say the colour names out loud together. Then try the white pot and see what it does.
What it practises
Naming colours, and seeing that two colours make a new one. That is all we claim for it. The real version,ઘરમાં રંગ શોધો (Colour hunt at home), does the same job with things from your kitchen, and does it better.
Five minutes on the screen is plenty. No sign-up, no sound, no ad networks, and nothing your child types leaves this page. More games in the Play corner.
Questions parents ask
What colours make orange, green and purple?
In paint, red and yellow make orange, yellow and blue make green, and red and blue make purple. Adding white makes any colour lighter, so red and white make pink.
Why does the screen say paint mixes this way?
A screen makes colours out of light, and light mixes differently from paint. The game shows what happens when you mix real paint, so it matches what your child will see with a brush and a pot of water.
