Magic name dots

Swipe over the dots to scatter them. Tap for a splash.

Play it together

Type your child's name together, saying each letter as you press it. Then hand it over: swipe or move the mouse to scatter the dots, tap for a big splash. Ask which letter comes back first.

What it practises

Recognising the letters of their own name. That is all we claim for it. The real version,Water Painting on the Wall, does the same job with things from your kitchen, and does it better.

Five minutes on the screen is plenty. No sign-up, no sound, no ad networks, and nothing your child types leaves this page. More games in the Play corner.

Questions parents ask

Why start with my child's own name?

A child's own name is usually the first word they recognise, and its letters are the ones they notice everywhere after that. Seeing the name scatter and come back together every time shows that a word keeps its shape. Say each letter out loud as you type it.

Does the name I type get saved or sent anywhere?

No. The name is drawn in the browser and nowhere else. There is no form, nothing is stored, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
